Lexann McPhoy has been building nail careers across the Caribbean for over fifteen years. She started in Georgetown, Guyana, in an industry that did not yet take itself seriously, with no mentor, no YouTube, and the kind of trial-and-error education that costs years before it produces a working professional. She came up the long way because there was no short way available.

She is the Managing Director of NSI Caricom, the authorized regional distributor for NSI professional nail products across the Caribbean and the Americas, and a Silver Level Global NSI Educator. Through NSI Caricom she has built one of the Caribbean's most recognized nail education programs, training technicians across Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, and the wider region through the MasterClass series, the Green Nail Salon Conference, and TVET-aligned training partnerships with national qualifications frameworks.

She is the founder of NSI Nails Guyana and Lexann's Nail Creations, and a former Director of the Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana. In 2024 she was named one of the 25 Influential Women Leaders of Guyana.

Her first book, From Beginner to Pro 7x Faster: A Caribbean-born playbook that turns student nail techs into confident, profitable pros, releases May 26, 2026, from Team Shaw Caribbean Press. It is the book she wished someone had put in her hands at the start of her career. The book covers nail chemistry in plain language, prep-to-finish technique built for the Caribbean climate, real-salon speed, occupational safety, client systems, and the certification pathway that turns a good technician into a recognized professional.

Lexann's work sits at the intersection of professional nail education, occupational safety, and women's economic empowerment in the Caribbean. She lives and works in Georgetown, Guyana.
