These Terms of Service govern your use of tscpress.net and any services offered by Team Shaw Caribbean Press (TSCP), a registered Guyana publishing house. By using the site or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them in full.

1. Acceptance of terms

When you use tscpress.net, sign up for our newsletter, submit a manuscript through our intake process, or purchase any TSCP service, you accept these Terms of Service and the documents linked from them, including our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the site or our services.

2. Services description

Team Shaw Caribbean Press offers professional publishing services to authors across the Caribbean and the diaspora. Our service tiers, scope of work, deliverables, and pricing are published on our Packages page. The published page is the current and authoritative description of what each service includes.

We may add, retire, or modify service tiers from time to time. Changes apply to new engagements only. Active engagements proceed under the terms in effect on the date the deposit was paid.

3. Author rights and ownership

Author rights are central to how TSCP operates. The full, contractually binding statement of those rights lives on our Author Rights page. This section is a summary, not a substitute.

In plain terms: you keep the rights to your work, you own your ISBN where applicable, you set up your own distribution accounts, and your royalties flow directly to your bank. Nothing publishes without your signed approval. The Imprint Model page describes the limited cases in which the TSCP imprint sits on the spine of a book and the specific contractual terms that apply in those cases.

Where any conflict exists between this summary and the Author Rights page, the Author Rights page controls.

4. Manuscript submission

Manuscript submissions are received through the intake process described on our Publish With Us page. By submitting a manuscript, you confirm that you own the rights to the work or have permission from the rights holders, that the work is original, and that it does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property.

You retain all intellectual property rights in your manuscript at every stage of the submission and review process. Submitting a manuscript does not transfer ownership to TSCP. Submission does not guarantee acceptance for any publishing tier.

We may decline to publish a manuscript at any point before the production phase begins. If we decline after a deposit has been paid, our refund policy applies (see section 6).

5. Payment terms

For one-time publishing packages (Digital Debut, Professional Launch, Authority Standard, and Shaw Authority), payment is split into two installments. A 50% deposit is due before manuscript intake begins. The remaining 50% balance is due before final files are released to distribution platforms.

For the subscription tier, payment is monthly and recurring. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month.

Payment methods will be detailed at the point of invoice. Phase 2 of our launch (planned for June 2026) introduces Stripe and MMG+ as the primary payment channels. Until then, payment instructions are issued by email.

Prices are quoted in Guyana dollars (GYD) for Caribbean-resident authors and in United States dollars (USD) for international authors, as listed on the Packages page. Taxes, if applicable, are added at the point of invoice in line with Guyana law and the law of any other jurisdiction that applies.

6. Refund policy

Refund terms are published in full on our Refund Policy page. In summary: deposits are 80% refundable within 14 days of payment, before manuscript intake begins. After intake begins, deposits become non-refundable except in the cases described on the Refund Policy page.

For the subscription tier, you may cancel at any time. Partial months are pro-rated.

If we decline to publish a manuscript after intake, the deposit is refunded in full, less actual costs incurred to that point.

Please read the Refund Policy page in full before paying any deposit.

7. Editorial process

Every manuscript accepted for publication goes through a structured editorial process designed to deliver a polished, professionally edited, and distribution-ready manuscript. The specific stages of the process for each tier are described on the relevant package page.

Editorial decisions are final at each signed approval gate. You retain three signed approval gates: after editing, after design, and at final proof. If you do not sign, we do not publish.

8. Distribution platforms

Books published under TSCP are distributed through the major international retail and library channels. These include Amazon (Kindle and Paperback), IngramSpark (for global print and library distribution), Apple Books, Kobo, and Books2Read for universal author links.

On the standard tiers, you set up the distribution accounts in your own name and you remain the account holder. TSCP does not own those accounts, does not hold the login credentials, and does not receive the royalty payouts. Distribution flows that depart from this default are described in the Imprint Model page and apply only to the Shaw Authority tier.

9. Intellectual property

You retain copyright in your manuscript, your book, and any derivative works on Digital Debut, Professional Launch, and Authority Standard. The ISBN is registered in your name. You are the legal publisher of record.

The Shaw Authority tier follows our imprint model. Under that model, the TSCP imprint sits on the spine of the book and specific contractual terms apply. Those terms, including how royalties are shared, how rights revert, and how the imprint association is described in the work, are set out in the Imprint Model page and the Shaw Authority contract you sign before any work begins.

The TSCP brand, including the name "Team Shaw Caribbean Press," the TSCP logos, the magenta brand color, and any associated marks, remains the property of TSCP and its parent organization, EICCIO Advisors. You may not use TSCP marks except as specifically permitted in writing.

10. Liability limitation

TSCP provides publishing services with reasonable professional care. We do not guarantee any specific commercial outcome, sales volume, critical reception, or media coverage. Publishing involves market factors outside any publisher's control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TSCP's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these terms or our services is limited to the fees you have paid to TSCP in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or loss of expected revenue.

11. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

12. Dispute resolution

Before either party files any legal action, we both agree to attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith mediation. Either party may initiate mediation by sending written notice to the other party. The parties will select a mutually agreeable mediator in Guyana within thirty days of the notice.

If mediation does not resolve the dispute within sixty days of the initial notice, either party may proceed to the courts of Guyana, which have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the change on the site. Material changes take effect thirty days after we publish them. Continued use of the site or our services after that date means you accept the updated terms.

Active engagements with TSCP proceed under the terms in effect on the date the deposit was paid, unless both parties agree in writing to apply the updated terms.

14. Contact

For any question about these Terms of Service, please write to hello@tscpress.net. We answer every email within one business day in Guyana time.
