Theon Alleyne, CRCP, CCEP | Team Shaw Caribbean Press
Caribbean compliance practitioner, founder of EICCIO Advisors, La Caribeña News, and Team Shaw Caribbean Press. Author of Letters to a Compliance Officer.
Caribbean compliance practitioner. Founder. Author.
Theon started at UBS in 1997. Over the next sixteen years, he worked inside the US regulatory establishment: NYSE American, NYSE Regulation, and FINRA. Not as a compliance officer being examined, but as the examiner, with formal examination authority over FINRA broker-dealers. He led investigations of public companies. He directed global audit teams at JP Morgan Chase assessing whether compliance mandates actually worked.
From 2017 to 2023, he applied that knowledge at IBM Consulting as a Senior Managing Consultant, designing AI-powered AML and sanctions screening systems for top-tier global banks. Then he came home to Guyana, founded EICCIO Advisors in 2023, and started the work that would lead to a book the profession had been waiting for.
EICCIO Advisors is the Caribbean compliance consultancy through which he serves banks, fintechs, MSMEs, and public-sector institutions across CELAC. The work covers AML and CTF program design, regulatory examinations, sanctions screening reviews, and the slow craft of turning compliance policy into compliance culture.
In 2025 he founded La Caribeña News, the editorial publication covering business, policy, and regulatory developments across the Caribbean and Latin America. La Caribeña News distributes through a network of journalists in 33 CELAC countries and applies the same editorial standards used by international wires, scaled to the region.
Team Shaw Caribbean Press is the publishing house he founded in 2026, prompted by a question that surfaced while writing his own first book: why is there no Caribbean publisher meeting international hybrid-publishing standards without taking the author's ISBN, the author's royalties, and the author's name from the imprint? TSCP exists because that publisher did not exist.
His first book, Letters to a Compliance Officer: What They Never Told You About the Job That Protects Everyone, was published April 5, 2026. It is the first compliance practitioner memoir ever published, structured as twenty-eight letters to a fictional compliance officer named Alex. The book carries endorsements from Devon Pinder (Association of Compliance Professionals of Guyana), Andrew Waxman (author of Rogues of Wall Street, Wiley), Clinton Urling, DBA, and Michael Bernardo, PhD.
He holds the CRCP (Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional, FINRA Institute at Wharton) and CCEP (Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, SCCE) designations, a BSc in Criminal Justice from Rutgers, and is currently completing an MPA. He has 30,000+ followers on LinkedIn in the compliance and financial services community.
